PETA own-goals the administration. Over a PUPPY.

(H/T: Brother Warner of RedState) Yes, ‘own-goals.’ If there was any possible way to pin this group on the Right it’d have been done years ago, and this story:

Breeder regrets dog sale to Biden

EAST COVENTRY — It was a proud moment for Linda Brown when then-Vice President-elect Joe Biden selected her kennel to purchase his new German shepherd puppy.

[snip]

For Brown, that proud moment was short-lived.

After the story about the puppy sale ran in the newspapers and on TV newscasts, three dog wardens from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture showed up on Brown’s doorstep for a kennel inspection.

[snip]

She said she has also received death threats from animal activists against her and Biden, which were reported to the Secret Service and the FBI.

…would have made the national news. Go read Warner’s entire piece: I’m in agreement with his observations and conclusions, and my only real contribution to this particular story is that I – and pretty much the rest of the Right – have had pretty much zero interest in VP Biden’s new dog. He decided to go buy one; well, people do, and he can certainly afford it. There are some unsavory folks selling dogs, yes, but they take advantage of the fact that people don’t do basic research… and as it turns out, the dealer was reputable, so no worries there. Big flipping deal, in other words: his money, and he wasn’t buying from a puppy mill.  Not our problem.  Not even a problem, from our point of view.  Certainly not one worth yelling about.

So keep that in mind when you hear people going off about how this kind of thing shows how politicized the country is, these days: while it is, in this case it’s all coming from one side. PETA members and their hangers-on don’t vote GOP.

Thank God.

  1. It’s harassment plain and simple for one purpose, to get them free publicity. I wonder what whould happen if the press and the blogosphere just ignored Peta?

  2. Hey folks,

I’m a democrat and I really, really, REALLY HATE PETA. A whole lot of us lefties do. It’s really a wretched, misguided, and self-serving organization. It’s important for those of us here on the left not to be thought of by those of you there on the right as being PETA people. Ugh.

I seriously believe members of PETA are emotionally crippled people, so damaged that the only things they can feel any kind of compassion for on this Earth are non-speaking creatures forced to shower them with unconditional love. We’re on the brink of another Great Depression, for heaven’s sake. There are more important things that should concern us right now other than where Foo Foo the dog came from.

    What an embarrassment,
