Apparently, DST was an integral part of my blogging strategy.

I’ve been increasingly feeling like I’m under a midnight ‘deadline’ – if that even means anything – since it ended.  Then again, that might just be the Dragon Age: Origins… which is playing out like a mediocre tabletop roleplaying game.

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ACCOMPLISHMENT OF BIOWARE’S.  No, seriously.  That ain’t an easy goal to reach.

:raised eyebrow: Since when is raising a kid not ‘work?’

Ah, right: Joy Behar. Like it’s my fault that I married a roboticist.  Ach, well, what people do for ratings.

PS: It’s Paul Rodriquez who was the comedian trying to get them to turn the damn taps back on in California, not George Lopez.  I mention this so that various people in comments sections stop thinking daggers at the former; yes, yes, I’m a mad optimist.

Rasmussen: 55% of New Yorkers mocked by the Online Left.

Or, as someone firmly grounded in objective reality might put it, “55% in New York Oppose Civilian Terror Trials.”

Just 35% of New York State voters agree with Attorney General Eric Holder’s decision to try the confessed mastermind of the 9/11 terror attacks and five other suspected terrorists in a civilian court in New York City rather than before a military tribunal.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds that 55% are opposed to that decision, which is part of the Obama administration’s effort to close the terrorist prison camp at the Guantanamo Naval Base in Cuba.

Guess we’ll be seeing a new talking point on that one from the Democrats, then. I’d offer suggestions, except that would imply that I was trying to help.

Gallup. 49%.

It’ll go back up, of course. But then, it’ll also go back down. And it’s the 44% disapproval that’s the really interesting bit.

Some-bo-dy’s lo-sing in-de-pen-dents….

Still waiting for the Senatorial numbers to show up for October.

I expect that the NRSC/DSCC will mirror the NRC/DNC & NRCC/DCCC breakdown (iow, the Democrats probably outraised the GOP in that category, too).

Amazing how a bunch of big wins in VA & NJ takes the edge off of waiting for the final numbers to come in, though. Reminds us of what we’re raising the money for.

Slowly it shifts…

Rust never sleeps, ladies and gentlemen:

Nearly two years into the recession, opinion about which political party is responsible for the severe economic downturn is shifting, according to a new national poll.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Friday morning indicates that 38 percent of the public blames Republicans for the country’s current economic problems. That’s down 15 points from May, when 53 percent blamed the GOP. According to the poll 27 percent now blame the Democrats for the recession, up 6 points from May. Twenty-seven percent now say both parties are responsible for the economic mess.

(H/t: Yid with Lid & Hot Air) And to quote Solomon Short: Rome didn’t fall in a day, either.  So keep reminding people about just who’s been in charge of the purse strings since January of 2007, and the whole blessed government since January of 2009.  Every little bit helps, and we’ve still got a year to correct the historical record.

Breitbart to Eric Holder: Investigate ACORN, or else.

Yes, it’s a threat.

And threats don’t get more direct than this: either AG Holder starts investigating ACORN, or Breitbart dumps what he still has on the scene in time to make a difference in the 2010 elections.

And this message is to Attorney General Holder: I want you to know that we have more tapes, it’s not just ACORN, and we’re going to hold out until the next election cycle, or else if you want to do a clean investigation, we will give you the rest of what we have, we will comply with you, we will give you the documentation we have from countless ACORN whistleblowers who want to come forward but are fearful of this organization and the retribution that they fear that this is a dangerous organization. So if you get into an investigation, we will give you the tapes; if you don’t give us the tapes, we will revisit these tapes come election time.

Italics in original. If this is a bluff… well. Every time somebody thought that Andrew Breitbart has been bluffing on the ACORN scandal, he’s turned out not to be. The latest one has Patterico almost gibbering in glee as he rakes the LA Times and James Rainey over the coals for their uncritical willingness to believe Lavelle Stewart; it doesn’t seem particularly safe to hope that this time is the time that Breitbart’s got nothing left.

Just back from the Let’s Dish!

http://www.letsdish.com/

They assemble the ingredients and the instructions: you put the food together and take it home for later cooking.  Don’t laugh: it’s great for when you have a new baby and you realize that you’ve forgotten to buy actual food for yourself.  Food’s a bit expensive – more than fast food, a good bit more than cooking yourself, less expensive than a restaurant – but the convenience is nice.  Very crunchy-con, but nice.

Not that folks really care, but I do, so you’re stuck with reading about it.

I can’t wait, either.

As soon as it can be arranged for the two of them, really.

United States Army Major Nidal Hasan told a radical cleric considered by authorities to be an al-Qaeda recruiter, “I can’t wait to join you” in the afterlife, according to an American official with top secret access to 18 e-mails exchanged between Hasan and the cleric, Anwar al Awlaki, over a six month period between Dec. 2008 and June 2009.

Fun game, Dragon Age: Origins

Total time suck, of course; and I suspect that it may be just a touch too much for my current machine.  I’m getting lag.

Still, worthwhile so far.

Geithner: Everything’s peachy. Really.

Big Government
:

Apparently, “any measurement” doesn’t include the unemployment rate, job growth, number of jobs, wage growth, hours worked, home foreclosures, rate of mortgage delinquencies, etc.

Which leads to the next question: what does ‘any measurement’ include? Surely there’s something that qualifies: for example, I imagine that segment of the sex worker industry that handles corporate lobbyists and union leadership cadres have been enjoying the recent influx of stimulus money. That’s good, right?

Feel free to come up with your own possible examples in comments.
