Waitasecond. NYC has a *bedbug* problem?

Really? Yes, yes, Glenn’s been mentioning it for the last few months, apparently – but for some reason it just clicked in my head.

What the heck? That’s… bizarre.

  1. More victims of Rachel Carson, although in this case only minor victims.

The one thing that surprises me is that I haven’t read any stories about underground DDT labs yet. If the internet is to be believed, DDT is pretty darn easy to manufacture and doesn’t require any really hard to get components. I’m sure it’ll happen sooner or later though, and I’m quite certain that Nanny Bloomberg will send in the SWAT teams guns a-blazing when it does.

  2. According to my sister-in-law, the Sunday NYT focused a story on the bedbug problem — in Cincinnati hotels.

I don’t know if the NYT does regional editions of the paper (in which case it would make some sense) or if they’re paddling down Denial.
