Sharon is a new co-chair of the RNC, and was more than happy to talk about the way that procedures were going to be different than those of the old RNC.
…and that’s all for tonight, I think.

Senator Lee is, of course, an old friend of RedState, and happy to check in with us.
Annoyingly, the interview was almost interrupted by the presence of the Rent is Too D*mn High guy. What said RiTDH guy was doing at CPAC remains a mystery: as I recall, the fellow is not precisely conservative.

Yes. That Chris Barron.
Probably one of the trickier interviews I’ll be doing this weekend (I should end up with a bunch, if today was any indication).

Marty is running for Congress, just as soon as he knows which district he’s in. That’s because of redistricting; and Marty has some very interesting information on redistricting… and how it applies to the City of Boston. Hint: it’s not good news for the entrenched Democratic leadership.
Marty’s kept his old site here; it’ll be updated in the future to reflect the current election cycle.

I have a few interviews lined up, with hopefully more to come. In the meantime, check out this video.
And by “check out” I mean take notes. This is a darn good video, not least because it tells you how to get to the site. And no, I’m not being facetious. You would be surprised to hear how often people forget to give meaningful directions to events.

No. 5 Asturias (Leyenda) from Suite española, Op. 47, John Williams (there are a lot of ‘em)
I don’t listen to enough classical guitar.
The bruise on the ankle by now is spectacular:
…DO NOT DARE TO MOCK MY WIFE’S MONKEY SLIPPERS.
(pause)
Anyway, the bruise is spectacular, but the swelling isn’t too bad and I can actually walk on it. Carefully. Still, once I’m ensconced at Blogger’s Row that’s going to be more or less it. The Row, or an interview room. Maybe the bar.

I just got sent this:
It’s like it’s on the veritable knife-edge of Awesome, high above the Abyss of Suck. And there’s an untrustworthy wind growing. But that might just be because my startled first reaction was “They got Julian Assange to play Charles Xavier?”
…when it comes to this interpretation of Firefly:
…this is an absolutely brilliant dissection of human madness. The plot is not about Malcolm Reynolds, Hellbusting, hardbitten idealist-turned-cynic leading his ragtag, fugitive fleet on a quest for freedom. That’s the boring cover. No. It’s about Malcolm Reynolds, shattered survivor of the Battle of Serenity Valley,* who was so badly broken by that battle and its results that he experienced a psychotic break.
The show is about life inside his fractured mind.
It is the only way the show makes sense, and the only way it’s truly enjoyable. Each element/character in his “crew” is actually a part of his fractured mind. Zoe is his loyalty, Wash his lightheartedness, Inara his libido, Jayne his physical courage, Kaylee his innocence, Simon his certainty, River his awareness, Book his faith in God. They’re not symbolic of these things, they’re the things themselves.
…but we will forgive him that; after all, it has led him to the proper place. And who are we to say which path to the donning of the Brown Coat is the best one?
So welcome, brother.
…for those who need their memory jogged, Staff Sergeant Sal Giunta received the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions in Afghanistan; he’s the first living recipient of the MoH since the Vietnam War. And apropos of absolutely nothing, if I’m reading his biography right Sgt. Giunta is from Iowa’s Second Congressional district, which is Dave Loebsack’s. Loebsack is a three-termer who came pretty close to losing in 2010; it’s a D+7 district, but Iowa’s going to be a lot less Democratic-friendly in 2012 than it was in 2008.
Just saying, that’s all. No rush; Sgt Giunta reportedly wants to get some more education in before he decides what to do with the rest of his life (and believe me, there are a lot of people out there willing to help MoH recipients with that particular life decision)…

The rumor going around on the internets that Egyptian strongman Hosni Mubarak already has left Egypt; but CNN and other groups are reporting instead that he’ll be addressing Egypt shortly. Stay, as they say, tuned.
In related news, brightly-colored plastic toy pieces emanate from the forces of Evil.
Or is possibly “extrude.”

PS: Sorry about the photo: I had to take it just to demonstrate to some guy on the Internet that when I’m cutting short a good mocking because I just banged up my ankle, what I’m really doing there is using a euphemism for I just banged up my ankle.
