Went from watching The Stand to now watching Colour from the Dark. All hail the awesome power of Netflix; it’s certainly easier on my storage space situation.
Still waiting for The Whisperer in Darkness to come out, though.
Just curious, have you seen an HBO movie from the early 1990s called _Cast A Deadly Spell_? It’s Lovecraft meets 1940s hard-boiled detective, I remember enjoying it when it was on back then.
Saw it and the sequel (which was sort of about the Red Scare); the last time that I looked, neither was really commercially available, more’s the pity.
I also hope you’ve seen this — http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnbE8VGLnZw
Demosthenes: I love how Dr. Herbert West is the ship’s doctor. Brilliant video.
I love netflix streaming, but I would pay at least an extra $10 a month if they’d put everything on streaming instead of their current limited selection.
Tried Lovecraft when I got Kindle. It was alright, sometimes silly, particularly The Color of Space. I mean we see visible light in a continuous spectrum, nothing left out. So how can a color be both unknown to mortals and look evil at the same time. Just dumb. Perhaps this stuff was more scary in the 30’s than it is now.
