Ooh. Night’s Black Agents is available on pre-pre-order.

It’s Ken Hite’s new roleplaying game setting, and it looks niftyShort version: you play a retiree from the Cold War’s Great Game who just found out that you were working for vampires.  Presumably, this bothers you.  Anyway, looks nifty, and Pelgrane Press takes Paypal (which simplifies international ordering immensely).  So I just, you know, now need to fill up Paypal somehow.

Tell me about it.

Something like this has been every damned problem that I’ve ever had with the iPad:

…except that there’s often one piece of ‘advice’ that either: is in fluent Applese; assumes that you have an Apple computer; or sneers at you for even wanting to fix that problem in the first place.

On the other hand, the iPod is working out pretty well so far.

#rsrh :raised eyebrow: Occupy Chicago getting advice from Bill Ayers?

On non-violence?

(pause)

Well, I suppose that, given his track record in teaching the skills of violence, this method is somewhat less likely to splatter fumble-fingered revolutionary blood, guts, and grey matter all over the nearest wall*.  Although, knowing Bill Ayers, if there’s a possible way that he can get yet more Marxist idiots (but I repeat myself) killed, he’ll manage it…

Three predictions about the #OWS “Bat-signal.” (NSFW)

(Via @WilliamAmos) The one that got put on the Verizon Building.

In order:

  1. The woman who agreed to let her apartment be used (note that I’m not making it easier to trace her by mentioning her name) will be evicted for this, in about… nine months or so.  Mayor Bloomberg and his crew are sneaks that way.  They’ll wait.
  2. When – not ‘if’ – it happens, Mark Read won’t give a shit.
  3. Neither will Boing Boing.

Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

#rsrh Man, Michelle Goldberg should stop doing Bloggingheads.

I’ve been doing this for years, and I’ve noticed that it seems that the only times that anybody ever links to Goldberg’s entries is when her opponent is casually disemboweling her arguments.  Latest example. Via Instapundit: this one has Conn Carroll calmly peeling back Goldberg’s remarkable ignorance about the peculiar circumstances regarding federal oversight of DC, complete with long pauses as she frantically attempts to assimilate the new information*.

I’d be pitying, except that I’m not.

Leon (Panetta), you ignorant slut.

India is an ALLY, fool.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, in remarks Thursday, ranked U.S. ally India with China as a rising threat to the U.S. in Asia. The Pentagon quickly sought to roll back the remarks.

“We face the threats from rising powers — China, India, others — that we have to always have sufficient force protection out there in the Pacific to make sure they know we’re never going anywhere,” Mr. Panetta said during a visit to a shipyard in Groton, Conn., where he toured a submarine, the Mississippi, in the final stages of construction.

Is Jen Rubin using Andrew Ferguson to sneak an anti-Perry sneer in?

Now, normally I don’t like to do this sort of thing when it comes to people who will be eventually on my side when it comes to an election. Truly, I do not. But while I was reading this Jen Rubin Washington Post article targeting the latest anti-Romney… excuse me, I meant to type out “Newt Gingrich,” there… I was struck by something in these two paragraphs:

Andy Ferguson, a senior editor at the Weekly Standard and arguably the most dazzling writer on the right, has been a one-man killing machine. In a series of pieces on Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and Jon Huntsman, he has systematically done in (or helped to do in) more Republican candidates than Think Progress, the New York Times and George Soros ever could.

In some cases, the effort was an intentional dissection of the candidate’s foibles. He wrote of the liberal elites’ favorite Republican: “Huntsman seems to have missed something big in the landslides of 2010. The reason for his Rip Van Winkle aura, to use still another metaphor, is that Huntsman spent most of the Obama administration out of the country.” His kickoff suffered from “hoary rhetoric [and] the overpackaging that can’t quite obscure the obvious lack of anything fresh to say.” At other times, Ferguson has simply caught the candidates unaware, letting them sink themselves (Daniels’s “social truce” and Barbour’s musing about the civil rights movement in Yazoo City).

Ah, First World Problems.

I’m at a bit of an impasse, here.  I have sucked out all the juices possible for Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic 2.  I’ve long since gotten everything that I was going to get out of Dragon Age 2; I’m now just waiting for the next DLC. Mass Effect 3 Collector’s Edition is months away.  Right now, I have two choices: try to get back into Assassin’s Creed 2, or else fire up Deus Ex: Human Revolution.  The problem with the former is that I probably really do need to pick up something like Xbox 360 Controller if I want to play the game; the problem with the latter is that I had it reserved for January or February, when the ME3 shakes would start really getting bad.

Anybody got an opinion? – You don’t have to have one, by the way.  As I said, this is a First World problem.  I should just be grateful that I have access to clean water, food, and clothing.

#rsrh Elizabeth Warren denies Occupiers the second time. #OWS

Because, after all, principles are principles – but a Senate seat is a Senate seat.

U.S. Senate hopeful and Harvard Law prof Elizabeth Warren, who has claimed she laid the “intellectual foundation” for the Occupy Wall Street movement, is jilting the anti-corporate proteges in her own Ivy League yard, refusing to sign a petition in support of Occupy Harvard.

Warren, who declined to speak to the Herald, is focused on her campaign, said spokesman Kyle Sullivan.

…Wait. WHAT?

Via Instapundit and The Other McCainthis.

Another flaw in the FWB[*] scenario is that the older generations haven’t learned how to have casual sex. For people in their 40′s and older, the standard for relationships has been monogamous marriage.

(pause)

Heh.
Ha.
Ha-hah.
Ha-hah-ah-hah!
Ha-ha-ha-GAHAAAHAAHHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Man, that’s even funnier than the Daily Caller ambushing so-called ‘patriotic millionaires’ who were calling for higher tax rates and inviting said millionaires to drop some money on the Department of the Treasury RIGHT NOW.  I mean, don’t get me wrong: I’m in a monogamous marriage, myself.  And (from what I gather, not that it’s any of my business anyway) so is Glenn; and so is Stacy.  But… wow. Did Johanna Lyman somehow miss the Naughty Nineties?
