This should have gone up last week, but illness intervened. You may remember Jackie from last cycle: she came incredibly close to to defeating incumbent Joe Donnelly in IN-02. Since then, redistricting has resulted in a more Republican-friendly street, and Donnelly has since announced that he’s retiring in order to lose this year’s Senate race. We talked about that, a bit about what’s changed (and what hasn’t changed since 2010, and I ask her a ‘gotcha’ question!
Well, it’s a question with more teeth than you might think.

I am so glad Jackie Walorski is running for congress. She is the right person for the job and exactly what we need for Indiana’s 2nd District and for this country. She is strong on the 2nd Amendment, she is strongly pro-life and pro traditional marriage. Jackie wants to shrink the size of the federal government and empower the states. She wants to take the reforms we have implemented here in Indiana and apply them to the federal government. She will cut taxes, reduce spending and repeal the burdensome regulations that are killing our economy. I wish we had more people in politics like Jackie Walorski. She is a strong conservative candidate with common sense who we can trust and who will help to lead this country out of the mess it is in.
So Moe, yet again I must ask you Kind Sir –
1) Do you think Ms. Walorski will win election this time around (barring any major catastophic feelings against the GOP this fall)?
2) Do you still think Republicans will most likely keep the House this fall?

1). I’ll need to see her opponent for a while – heck, she has to win the nomination herself – but IN is trending back to the GOP side and the district’s been adjusted, so Jackie’s got a good shot.
2). The Democrats have not gotten any more impressive at recruitment and/or creating a working narrative since the last time I was asked this question, so I am not seriously sweating the ability of the GOP to keep the House. 🙂
