“Summer of ’69.”

Summer Of ’69, Bryan Adams

I just realized… these kinds of songs are pretty whiny, huh?  Frankly, twenty years ago I was flat broke and women wouldn’t talk to me.  I mean, I still had fun and everything… but damn but was I dumb, sometimes.

  1. Summer of 1969 was more than 40 years ago, Moe. I was in high school and pretty sure that things would get better when I got to college, but of course it still hurt when none of the cool girls would talk to me.

It did get better, though. 🙂

  2. This may sound rich coming from a 25 year old…but damn, the Baby Boomers were a self-absorbed lot! The sheer narcissism of this song is truly profound.

  3. There’s a species of humanity that I’ve always referred to as “peaked in high school.” We who didn’t hated them then. For a deeper study, see John Cougar Mellencamp. But I think Mellencamp does the sentiment better.
