Baboons can recognise four-letter words on a computer screen, according to scientists in France.

Researchers found the monkeys could tell the difference between actual words and nonsense letter combinations.

After being trained, the baboons were able to make this distinction, despite not being capable of reading.

Mostly because, well, baboons. Those sons-of-bitches have never forgiven us for getting the evolutionary drop on them.  Couldn’t we train, I don’t know, the three-toed sloth or something?  I mean, who cares if they want to use their knowledge in their schemes against humanity?  We’ll all be dead of old age before they get out of their first planning meeting anyway.
