Quick question about me doing interviews.

Specifically, non-political interviews (as in, interviews about gaming or geekery or suchlike).  Do people actually want to hear those? – On the one hand, I’d like a little more balance between politics/non-politics here; on the other hand, it’s kind of a zero-sum game situation and there’s already a lot of people out there doing interviews.  On the gripping hand, I could definitely use the practice.

  1. Nasty primary, most likely an even nastier general coming up. A little non-politics to offset the mindf*ck that is politics would be much welcomed I think.

  2. Politics aside, it’s the geek stuff that keeps reading at your site as opposed to just your posts at Redstate.

  3. Second Spegen. I realized a while back that the only reason I had RedState on my Reader list was for your special combination of snark/geekery/politics/trouble-making. More out of those categories is always good, IMO.

  4. I don’t know about everyone else, but I come here because I get a kick out getting your take on all kinds of topics, so, do interviews with people you think it would be cool to interview… if they happen to be politicos, or authors, or geeks, or whatever, all good. Actually, I would be kinda disappointed if I found out you had a chance to interview Larry Correia (author, Monster Hunter International), or the Skyrim artists, or Felicia Day, and you decided that it wouldn’t be appropriate ’cause you do politics…

  5. Do what makes you happy. If it’s any good, you’ll know soon enough. Same if it sucks.

  6. Why not offer to replace Dave “Video Games Are Creating a Generation of Serial Killers” Swindle at PJMedia?

Seriously — you can write, you’re an actual adult, and you know the material he spits on.

  7. Please, do non-political interviews, that’s why I enjoy your writings so much, it shows that one can be a conservative thinker but love all the same things I do. Most liberal leaning people have no idea that folks of our ilk like pc games, D+D, sci-fi, miniatures and all the other assorted geek things in this world.
By the way, if you need any minis painted for a wargaming army I do it semi-professionally on the side.

  8. I’d love to see some good interviews with webcartoonists or game designers. Steve Jackson should have some interesting comments once the Kickstarter is over.

  9. YES! Based on the above comments, I’m not the only one here who followed the trail of Reese’s Pieces over here from RedState and stayed because of the quality geek content supplementing the political stuff. I’d love to see you do interviews of a non-political nature.

  10. It looks like your interviews will be well-received. I’ll be interviewed in the technology of how you do them, so I hope your share that geekery as well. I’d love an update on how your iPad is working out for doing interviews and the accessories you are using.

  11. You notice how few of us even question what you mean by “on the gripping hand”? You have many geeks out here and we enjoy geeking out with you. Cut loose.
