		<description><![CDATA[I have to say, having just been in DC the Metro was not as dysfunctional as I had expected.  There were a few escalators off line, perhaps one in ten, but overall the system ran well and the employees were helpful and pleasant.

No doubt it is a money pit that will never turn a dime profit, but as an afficinado of subways systems I give it good marks.
