I was just remarking to my wife that we hadn’t seen you in the comic for a while; and there you are. You fit in… surprisingly well, really.
PS: Nice hat.
PPS: The Girl Genius store.
I remember Phil Foglio’s older stuff. Good times!
It’s never been clear how jägers came to be in the first place, although there have been recent hints… perhaps the process is similar to the way Krosp became Emperor of the Cats?
@Ric: We learned a lot of it down in the Great Movement Chamber when the Castle explained the history of the Dyne – there may be more details, but the majority of it seems to be “take a tough human, give them an artificial growth hormone brewed from the waters of the Dyne, wait to see if they die from the semi-random mutations.”
@Moe: I agree, it’s a… “surprising but inevitable fit” would be a good phrase I think. The only difference is, the Generals serve Agatha, and she “serves” Krosp. Either way, he has exactly the right mentality to do well there.
FrO: It probably helps that the Jagers are probably extremely used to dealing with oddities. A talking genius strategist cat? Yeah, that’s not the weirdest thing that they’ve ever seen, and he probably haz a goot idea or two in hiz hed, yahh?
New face among the Generals.
Yeah, Krosp is wearing a hat, which either means he’s a Jager, and has been hiding sneaky-like, or he is what he told Agatha, and copying their style. New dark red general, and it took me this long to notice “Hey, that general doesn’t have a hat.”
After I got over my shock, I started looking around for Higgs. I’ll bet he turns up there, too.
John: When in Rome, do as the Romans do. When among Jagers, wear a hat and show your fangs a lot.
Though, there IS that one general who doesn;’t wear a hat… love to hear his story.
Speaking of Higgs… has anyone noticed that he and the Baron are scarred/stitched up in exactly the same way? And come to think of it, don’t they kinda look a little similar?
