I think it was Robert Anton Wilson who noted that songs like this could be dangerous to a man’s head, not to mention his neck.  That they are, and that is just the way of it.

    The tune goes to a lot of songs, Catseye (the Irish are into recycling, as it were…). The Wearin’ of the Green is one such, also The Army of the Free, a song about Fitz John Porter’s division in our own Civil War…
