#rsrh Civility in politics benchmark: are guns being brandished on Meet The Press?

Then we’re probably still doing OK:

A Jordanian member of parliament pulled a gun on a political activist during a furious debate live on Jordanian TV on Thursday.

You know how it goes: one guy calls the other guy a stooge for Syria, the other guy calls the first guy a stooge for Mossad, somebody throws a shoe, and then out comes the gun.

Looks like a .32 snub-nosed revolver. Come, I will conceal nothing from you: before I watched the video, I expected it to be a .22. Mostly because I figured the guy to be waving around something purely for the look of it, and the only things that .22s are good for are tin cans and zombies*…

Moe Lane

*Neither is known for dodging.  Which, as the Zombie Survival Guide notes, makes the .22 actually more useful for zombie-killing than many larger, louder weapons: some hope for an eye shot that avoids the Undead’s skull that way.

  1. Ohy, I don’t know. As a member of the side with all of the guns, I feel Second Amendment arguements would, at least, restore a bit of civility to a sadly lacking age.

“…and next up on The View, we have the latest dish on that stupid Sarah Palin…”
    *KLIK* “That what, now?”
“…um- IMITATOR, that stupid Sarah Palin imitator Tina Fey! Tina Fey Tina Fey ohgodplease!”

  2. … or just use a CAT D-8 Dozer and landfill the mess.

You’d probably have to use a Toxic waste dump, though…..
