#rsrh Virginia Democrats voted to shield pedophiles. #truthteam

You want to play games, Democrats? You want to be able to tar as many Republicans with your brushes as you can? …OK, fine, if that’s how it’s going to be.  We can play a game.  Hey, here’s a fun one: it’s called “Let’s talk about the Democrats who fought to protect people who rape kids.”

In March, the Virginia state legislature overwhelmingly passed a law that imposed automatic life sentences for any adult convicted of raping a child under the age of 13. The issue received scant attention and even less debate, according to Delegate Rob Bell (R.,Charlottesville), the bill’s sponsor.

“More than half of all rapes in Virginia are to children under 13,” he said. “In the past two years we had 228 offenders, only 10 got life sentences. They were appallingly short.”

Twenty-one state senators and delegates, all Democrats, voted nay on the bill, including a handful of prominent Obama supporters.

Bless their hearts.

PS: No, the Democrats can’t have a conversation about mandatory sentencing, instead.  We’re playing by their Akin Rules, remember? – and under the Akin Rules people like, say, Obama ‘Truth Team’ member and VA Delegate Scott Surovell is an advocate of the right of an adult to rape a twelve year old and not go to jail for the rest of his life.  No, wait, he’s actually that under the regular rules, too:

“You could have somebody who just turned 18 involved with someone who’s 12-and-a-half, and to say that 18-year-old should get life in prison should be up to a judge and jury from the community, not Richmond,” [Surovell] said. “These are constitutional rights that we fought for our independence from England for.”

Oh, well, 12 and a half. Guess that makes it all better, then.

Hey. It’s their rules, not mine.  Not my fault that the Democrats are hypocrites, is it?

  1. Is 12.5 even old enough for rights to have attached to a child? I mean the parents could still be considering whether or not they want to keep her, so to someone like Babs Boxer, she might not be a person yet. Just because someone’s “born alive” doesn’t mean they are entitled to rights, just ask the president. And if you can still abort them, what’s a little rape, I mean it’s not rape-rape, right?

  2. Huh. A pattern is emerging. ACORN helps a pimp organize his brothel of underage sex slaves. Planned Parenthood repeatedly fails to obey laws on reporting statutory rape. Holder’s Justice Department ignores cases of underage sex slavery. And Virginia Democrats vote to protect child rapists.

Funny, I don’t recall the section of the Declaration of Independence where Jefferson stated that the Colonists were being deprived of the right to rape 12.5 year old children and not be given life in prison. Of course back then the best a pedophile could hope for was a hanging.
