#rsrh Let me tell you what the President SHOULD say today.

He won’t, but he should.  I assume that Obama will be able to adequately praise the at least four Americans (including our Ambassador) murdered yesterday, but something like the following will almost certainly not appear in his statement:

I am told that the murder of our Ambassador and others was carried out by organized Libyan terrorist groups dedicated to eliminating freedom and democracy in that country.  I will be consulting with the Joint Chiefs of Staff – particularly the Joint Chief of the Air Force and the Commandant of the Marine Corps – over the precise details of our response.  Until then: I recommend that anyone who has gotten into the habit of standing next to Libyan terrorists get out of that habit.  Very quickly.

Which is a problem, because before this is over we’re all going to miss that lack of forthright, righteous menace.  Of course, I’m a Republican: we’re kind of spoiled, when it comes to this sort of thing.

  1. Forget the Arab Spring, forget foreign aid to Egypt and Libya. Allow our military to do the job they were originally trained to do.

Bush was wrong about nation building, Obama was wrong about the Arab Spring. The answer to these people is napalm.

  2. This is why both of us are not currently POTUS: We are not politicians, thus we can’t stomach political correctness. I would have already bombed the hell out of Tripoli by this point in time and then went on to have lunch with Ambassador Mohamed M. Tawfik to disgussed yesterday’s and today’s events, asking him about the state of Ambassador Anne Patterson’s physical health.

  3. I intend to see every last terrorist involved in this attack upon the United States in a grave or gitmo. I do apologize in advance if anyone standing in the vacinity of these terrorist gets blood and brain matter on their clothes. This is the first and last apology, you will get from the People of the United States of America.

  4. A weak response encourages more bad behavior. We ought to be introducing the Arab Spring to nuclear winter… Too bad Obama is a fool and a dupe.

If history has the opportunity, Obama and Chamberlin ought to be bookends …

  5. “In response to the unprovoked acts of war against our people and our embassies, we have decided to complete the processing of the war criminals being held in Guantanamo Bay. Their remains will be returned to their countries of origin via the fastest possible route.”

  6. Watch the scene in “The Wind and the Lion” that takes place in Mr. Gummere’s office, with the Admiral and Captain Jerome…
