It’s one where you get interrupted when you try to spin the stupid things that your candidates say.
For those without video, it shows: George Stephanopoulos (!) playing a clip of Joe Biden’s infamous ‘buried’ gaffe*; asking Robert Gibbs whether gaffes like this will hurt the Vice President in his upcoming debate with Paul Ryan**; and stopping Gibbs cold when Gibbs tried to claim that Biden was talking about the last eight years*** when Biden clearly said four. Pure entertainment, in other words: oh, I’m sure that there were plenty of softballs and whatnot. It’s Stephanopoulos, after all. But perhaps the Media is figuring out that smacking the Democrats around a bit promises to be good for the ratings…

**I am not trying to be cute, here: but we – and more importantly, Paul Ryan – need to be prepared to deal with the fact that Joe Biden can and will lie with a straight face in public. It kept him from being President; but apparently the Media doesn’t mind a habitual liar in the VP slot.
***Which is interesting, all on its own. Apparently the habits of 2008 are still strong in 2012; and while I agree that it would be more fun for Obama to run against Bush he’s, well, not.
So when does Obama bring in Bob Shrum? Isn’t that what the Dems do in moments like these?

Of course he can still win, the race is close, therefore fraud is possible. Here in MI the judge ruled that you cant ask on a ballot if the voter is a citizen.

I think it’s more the realization that more people are aware that the media has been refusing to do their job and that they are going to keep losing sponsors if it keeps up.

The media loves to have someone to kick around. They’re not ready to kick around Obama himself yet (though if Obama loses this election that will very likely change and I expect him to not do interviews) but they have gotten up the nerve to kick around at least Obama’s press secretary. We’ll see if they have the nerve to do that to any of Obama’s other subordinates (time to duck and cover, Eric Holder).

So .. there are some definite cracks in the palace guard showing… The really sad part is, I recall the old SNL cast taking some really cheap shots at Carter. I’m guessing John Belushi and Gilda Radner had more stones and could push the funny out past lib-honcho Lorne Michaels….

I agree with Cameron, the media is beginning to cover their butts.
Stick a fork in ’em, old media is done in any case. The trend away from cable to streaming media & ala carte TV will be to TV news shows as the Intertunnels have been to print media.
@Finrod – Elections change nothing… When was the last time you see Clinton or Carter face difficult questions? When was the last time you see them mocked?
Even if Obama loses, they will still hail him as the First Black President. With highest ever IQ.

I haven’t watched any network news in 5 years or more, and every time I see a clip of any of it, I feel like a genius for not watching it.
Praveen – SNL went after Carter prior to his loss to Reagan in 1980. Carter is still routinely mocked in most of the country. Just ask who people most associate with the word “malaise” sometime.

As Moe is fond of saying, “Elections. Have. Consequences.” If you were to continue to insist that the sky is yellow, or that voting out Obama won’t result in a change in how he’s portrayed, this is America and you have the right to do so .. but you’d be wrong.
