…Yup, he’s at the links again.
President Barack Obama is spending his first Saturday after winning reelection on the golf course. Today’s outing is to the course on Andrews Air Force Base.
This while Long Island is still in the dark. Personally, if it wasn’t for that last bit I’d approve, on the theory that when President Obama is on the golf course he’s not actually trying to run the country. We do better when he’s not trying to run the country; notice how the unemployment rate went down a bit as Obama really knuckled down to campaign?
How do we know this? Because he announced yesterday that jobs and growth were now his administration’s top priority.
On Tuesday, America went to the polls. And the message you sent was clear: you voted for action, not politics as usual. You elected us to focus on your jobs, not ours.
At a time when our economy is still recovering from the Great Recession, our top priority has to be jobs and growth.
The situation gets summed up by this tweet:

You can see why:
MY WIFE’S LOVER
My wife is having an affair with a government executive. His role is to manage a project whose progress is seen worldwide as a demonstration of American leadership. (This might seem hyperbolic, but it is not an exaggeration.) I have met with him on several occasions, and he has been gracious. (I doubt if he is aware of my knowledge.) I have watched the affair intensify over the last year, and I have also benefited from his generosity. He is engaged in work that I am passionate about and is absolutely the right person for the job. I strongly feel that exposing the affair will create a major distraction that would adversely impact the success of an important effort…
It’s maybe a little unfair to do 20/20 hindsight, but then the guy who wrote the response to this Upper East Side’s version of a Penthouse Letter took the position that the affair didn’t have to be revealed because the target was apparently not a social conservative… so no, it’s not unfair at all to gently point out that it’s reasonable to expect that a real reporter who had been given this kind of hint might have gone out and done a little digging.
Assuming that this article is actually referencing Petraeus, of course.
[UPDATE: They’re saying that it isn’t.]

[I still say that there’s a story there. Just tossed in the guy’s lap, and everything.]
I sometimes wonder about Skin Horse. There’s a certain… vibe, at times. I wonder if they themselves realize it’s there.
Or maybe I’m just so used to seeing hardcore Leftism in webcomics when politics come up at all that its relative absence becomes startling.

I hope to God Max Brooks got a good deal of money out of this, because from what I can see of the trailer he ain’t going to have the pleasure of seeing his vision up on the screen… Continue reading “World War Z” Trailer.
