Just finished Supervolcano: All Fall Down.

Supervolcano: All Fall Down by Harry Turtledove was pretty good, if you care for the story of the slow-motion collapse of the United States of America* after the worst geological event in recorded history (the eruption of the Yellowstone caldera); particularly as seen through the eyes of a not-particularly-super-heroic, fairly standard American family.  There are a bunch of folks who don’t like that sort of thing; then again, there are people who didn’t like Cloverfield.  I don’t judge.

Anyway, that was what I was doing this afternoon.

Which reminds me, thanks for recommending The Last Policeman. Excellent bit of noir.

I saw a TV movie called “Supervolcano” with essentially the same plot, I think, but that’s been a few years ago…What’s the publication date on that? Nevermind, google is my friend….

Eh, no relation, apparently… Was a pretty good movie, I thought. BBC production.

Yeah, I think I saw that, too, though (for the BBC), there didn’t seem to be any Rupert Murdoch connection to the disaster…

I liked Cloverfield for what it was, but I didn’t like how we didn’t get to see a resolution to the monster. We know something happen to it, but how it came about and how was it delt with was never revealed to us.
