QotD, Elections Have Consequences, OBAMA Supporters edition.

Unlike Legal Insurrection, I am pretty sure I know where I stand on the question How does one react to the news that moderate Obama supp0rters are unhappy with the news that they’re now signed up for an endless progressive offensive?

It’s hard to know whether to cheer their disappointment or commiserate.

I’m neither: I’m simply… indifferent.  This is what happens when you don’t think your vote through, first.  There was every opportunity for Obama supporters to grasp exactly what their vote entailed; and I’m sure that a non-trivial percentage of them are just fine with the looming slug-fest.  Which is fine; it’s the ones that eagerly allowed themselves to be lied to by progressives that are the issue here, and when it comes to them I’m afraid my sympathies are at best muted.  How did that Bob Heinlein quote go, again?

Ah, yes: “Tell your troubles to Jesus; the chaplain’s gone over the hill.”

PS: Not my problem, sorry: *I* voted for the other guy.

  1. My version is a bit shorter: “Buy the ticket, take the ride.”

They bought the ticket by voting for him, they don’t get to complain about where the ride goes.

  2. I can’t imagine there are very many truly remorseful Obama 2012 voters. I do think people thought he would take on entitlements and he hasn’t, but polls still show GOP gets the blame for fiscal cliff.

  3. @earlgrey, by “take on entitlements” you mean, “take them, and keep adding to them until everyone except the ‘one percent’ is getting them”? If you meant actually reducing them, I can’t imagine anyone expected that.

    1. @Skip – yes, some folks did make the claim that Obama would fix entitlements .. I suspect they’re up to their necks in a certain river in Egypt, or that they think all we need is a little anti-fraud …

    2. No I spoke to at least one Obama voter that fully expected he would take on entitlements after the election.

you know when he would have more “flexibility”. The reason you can’t imagine that is because it is hard to believe that people that can function in ordinary life (and be successful) would be that stupid.
