She’s also politicizing dead kids, but then again that’s what gun control advocates do. From Politico:
In the wake of the deadly Connecticut school shooting, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy said she has warned the White House [in the past] “the gloves are off” if President Obama fails to act on the issue.

“I said, ‘Jack, I know the president is going through an election and I’m telling you after the election I’m coming out full force,’” McCarthy told POLITICO Friday. “I was just giving the White House a heads up that the gloves are off on my side and I was going to do everything I possibly could. … If that meant embarrassing everybody, that’s what I would do.”
More accurately: that’s what she would like to do. Carolyn McCarthy (and her equally contemptible compatriot Jerry Nadler) is unfortunately – for them – stuck dealing with a situation where gun-related crime has gone up in the United Kingdom in the last decade (despite having exceptionally strict gun laws), while both violent crime and gun ownership* have gone down in the United States in the same period (despite the fact that the so-called ‘assault weapons ban’ expired in 2004). Fortunately for the country, the folks that oppose these people both know that, and are prepared to bring up these sorts of uncomfortable truths…
