Tina Fey not reacting well to her perpetual typecast.

OK, this I can’t resist breaking out in vicious laughter over:

As the late-middle-aged couple at the table next to us get up, the male half approaches, grinning: “Excuse me, aren’t you Governor Sarah Palin?” It’s so lame that [the now-permanently typecast Tina] Fey can barely manage a quarter of a fake smile. “Not for, like, three years now,” she says, looking as if she’d like to dive under the table.

The guy has his gag, though, and he’s going to run with it. “I so enjoy watching you on Fox,” he says.

“Thank you, have a nice day,” she replies. As he walks away, she murmurs, “Until the day I die. Until the day I die.”

I mean, Awwww. It’s so cute when Hollywood actors and actresses think that they’re people.

Via Hot Air Headlines, which pretty much quoted the exact same bit.  There’s a lesson for Tina, right there: to wit, that the most interesting thing about her is that Ms. Fey once participated in some pretty brutal agitprop against a now-retired politician.  And that’s gonna be the defining characteristic of the woman’s career.

Until, indeed, the day she dies.

  1. She should learn from Don McLean, who was once asked if he was ever tired of being associated first and foremost with his song _American Pie_. He replied that the song had brought him two things: fame and fortune.

    1. That brings up an interesting question, Finrod.

One would imagine Gov. Palin is .. well rewarded .. for her Fox gig and her books… and therefore must ask whether Palin or Tina Fey’s ongoing role as Liz Lemon pays better.

Perhaps bitter Tina is just the latest proof that living well is the best revenge, eh?

      1. sorry for the OT ACAT, but I posted my diary on Red State. Thanks for the encouragement. It turns out that my group wanted me to write something up anyway.

        1. Congrats, earlgrey! Good for you!

(would it be weird if I say that I’m proud of you?)

Now you’ve proven you can do it, look for an opportunity to do it again.

          1. Thanks. And not it’s nt weird. I appreciate the encouragement. The good thing about our group is that there will be more times to do it again. Just looking forward to playing offense rather than defense.

    2. Ray Wylie Hubbard says he hates singing “Redneck Mother” until the royalty check arrives in the mail …

  2. Well, I know what I’m going to do if I ever met Ms. Fey in person.

So, Moe, doing a happy dance yet about the Skyrim DLC announcement?

  3. Tina should be happy, before Palin most people never heard of her, now she’s rich and gets paid to host award shows

  4. I do believe that is what is known as “irony”. My sympathies for Ms. Fey are…. muted.
