  1. This would also be a good point to mention that any Skyrim fan should also take a gander at the Lindsay Stirling/Peter Hollens cover of the Skyrim theme. A very good video too!

  2. So, what’s your idea of P.S.C? Is this a platonic ideal, or a specific spec to run the DragonBorn DLC?

    1. More the former; it’s using the mods that I’ve decided SHOULD have been in the game anyway (glowing unread books, some prior-game locations, quest markers, Paarth fix, Dragon Souls for perks*), avoids the quest line (Dark Brotherhood) that I regretted having my first character do, and generally fits my play style (Light Armor, One-handed, Archery, Stealth, Illusion) with an added wrinkle (Conjuration is more fun than I thought it’d be). And, of course, I go everywhere.

*Honestly, they should have let you do SOMETHING with the extras.

      1. So are there any other mods you think are absolutely necessary? I’ve actually had skyrim on my PC since the day it shipped, but due to work haven’t spent more than an hour in it, but should be able to get to it Real Soon Now…

        1. Get the Unofficial Skyrim and expansion Patches, to start with. I have the Unread Books Glow, Improved Skill Books, Detailed Mine Map Markers, Item Sorting, Stones of Barenziah, and Dragon Priest Mask mods active, plus am assessing the Paarthurnax Fix and a couple of mods to make the female characters look a little more natural. Dragon Knowledge (Dragon souls for perks) is maybe not a good idea until your second run-through.

  3. You’ll enjoy it. It’s good. Lots to explore, and if you played Morrowind/Bloodmoon, tons of memories.
Don’t get too excited over being able to ride dragons, though. They’re great for quick travel, but nearly impossible to control. (The one time you *need* to ride one, he’ll go where he’s supposed to. Just let him. It’ll save you lots of aggravation.)

After you arrive at Raven Rock, you may want to travel left to the farm that’ll appear on your radar. Completing the questline that starts there is the only way to get a house on the island. You’re going to have difficulties selling loot until you progress a certain distance into the main quest.

      1. Argh. Farm is to the right after you get off the boat.

The only thing you’ll likely need help for, is that a treasure map you acquire appears in misc instead of books. Drove me frigging nuts.
