It took me years to figure out that Jagger was saying “politesse.”
I’m not a big Rolling Stones fan but this is a great, great song.
I just remember how after “interview with the vampire ” it became a theme song for every goth wannabe at my college
The Screwtape Letters, set to (awesome!) music.
I think another weakness of this song is that they seemed not to have hired professional background singers for the “woo hoo” chorus. It sounded as if some of them were close to hyperventilating by the end.
