Scenes from the Zero-Sum War in California: Education Front.

(Via Instapundit) Makes me all tingly inside, it does.

Delegates at the California Democratic Party convention overwhelmingly passed a resolution yesterday censuring fellow party members who support school reform and calling groups like Democrats for School Reform a front for Republican and corporate interests.

…Actually, not really.  I have a little more of a life than that.  But this is what happens when liberals collectively decide that since the pie has always gotten larger in the past, it will keep getting larger – no matter what happens to the pie-makers.  I think that Ayn Rand has real problems with her political and economic theory, but she got one thing right: you can’t long-term insult a person into being innovative and productive.  Eventually he or she will tell you to [expletive deleted] off, usually while loading up the U-Haul.

  1. The only problem with those UHauls is those of us living in states that didn’t put Jerry Brown in the Governor’s mansion on multiple occasions, now have an in flux of tax and spend liberals in the voting booths.

  2. Ayn Rand was better at recognizing a problem than offering solutions.

Her worst fault as a novelist was her view of the sexual relationship between men and women especially wrt to Howard Roark and Dominque Francon and Henry Rearden and Dagny Taggart.

    1. That may be because the only ‘solutions’ that would help are .. rather horrific. Mass die-offs come to mind.

That said, I am experiencing a pleasant schadenfreude .. watching the pie shrink and the rats biting one another to make sure they can keep their piece…
