    Let’s go to an even more distant alternate timeline, one in which Eric Holder said in early 2009, “No, I must respectfully decline the nomination. My role in the pardons of sixteen unrepentant Puerto Rican terrorists and of Marc Rich in the waning days of the Clinton Administration is something of which I am deeply ashamed. These actions eternally disqualify me for the office of Attorney General of the United States.”
