…Yeah. The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug trailer is out.

Well now.

Some of you are going to freak out.  I’m not myself on the list of people who are freaking out, you understand: but some of you are going to watch that trailer, blink a couple time, and then manifest your inner ragenerd.  I’m not judging.  Your privilege.

    Frickin’ awesome

Nice to see Orlando Bloom working again. Otherwise, count me in the group that wasn’t expecting faithfulness to the book after seeing the first movie, just want to be able to sit back and enjoy a good movie. Kinda like the new Trek films, yeah the plot is leaky but still enjoyable

Looks great to me, and I consider myself a Tolkien nerd.

Jackson has already violated enough of my childhood memories.
Screw him, and screw this movie (and its sequels).

  • Cameron says:

Let’s be honest with ourselves: If the movies were a 100%, page for page, word for word carbon copy of the books, the Lord of the Rings would be about nine days long, the Hobbit about four and all of the movies would have bombed horribly.

I’m there to be entertained so to heck with the purists.

I’m a purist, but I love these movies. These are supposed to get you into the books, not make it so you never have to read the books again.
