Wait. Hurricane Katrina was *BAD* for the GOP, right?

Because as near as I can tell, the most lasting long-term consequence of it was that Louisiana went from being a largely Democratic state to an unquestionably Republican one.  It’s almost as if, the closer you get to New Orleans, the more disgusted that people got with the Democratic party of Louisiana…

PS This would be State Senator Elbert Guillory.  Just flipped parties, he did.

Just thought that you might find the guy interesting, that’s all.  Don’t know anything more, ya, you betcha.

    1. Yeah, there’s some people having that reaction. You’d think that this guy would have gone farther in the LA Democratic party than state senator, huh?

      1. He’s always been a Conservative Democrat so I guess that explains why.

      2. He saw the cookies on the wall. Handwriting on the cookies?
        .
Whatever. He can have ALL the cookies he wants is what I’m saying.

I suspect his career was limited by a lack of criminality. The Democrat Party doesn’t trust anyone that can’t be bought and can’t be removed when they want.

  1. Already read this on Newsbusters, some people think he will run for Lt. Governor in 2015, He switched because of the social liberalism of Democrats. The GOP shouldn’t just drop Social Conservatism as it exists as a wedge issue the GOP could use against the Democrat Party, especially to make inroads among African-Americans.

  2. where do I send this man some money for his (re?)election campaign? I haven’t much, but da-yum…….
