Dick Durbin desperate for Republicans to share blame on #Obamacare.

Oh, dear: it would seem that Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois is having a bit of an… incident.

In a surprise move, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin is saying it’s time to change President Obama’s signature achievement: Obamacare.Deadlines for not one but now two important pieces of Obamacare have been delayed a year.  So when [Dick] Durbin, the number two Democrat in the Senate, was asked if he’s alarmed, he said it’s time to “change and improve” Obamacare.

[snip]

[Dick] Durbin is calling on Republicans to help change and improve Obamacare…

But… Republicans already have.  Quite some time ago, in fact.

  1. Durbin suddenly realizes that the Democrats urgently need a real doctor to fix the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act,” because the Democrats don’t know nothin’ ’bout birthin’ good legislation.

    1. But you can use it to do some really fun things. If you make something a crime, you can’t punish people for things before it was that level of crime, ex post facto, and all that. Whereas, if someone has a history of, say, pot smoking, one can at any point pass a law permitting insurance companies to jack up premiums to some insane level to ‘account for the impaired risk assessment’. Perhaps even if their is already conflicting language in the insurance contract. That said, collecting would be a pain.

If the thought doesn’t tickle your heart, even a little, we probably have irreconcilable differences.

If you think it is a good idea to let government get in a position where they can get away with pulling that sort of crud, we probably have irreconcilable differences.
