I would very much like to see a lot of people’s cynical assumptions about the likely fallout to that to be, well, cynical assumptions that turned out to be false. Fortunately, most of the trash-talk along those lines have been in social media, which is notorious for having people who talk big, and act small.

PS: My thoughts on this trial will remain my own, but: there is enough in the way of bad decision-making and poorly thought-out actions to go around. I’m not really celebrating this decision; after all, somebody died.
There is never any winning. Only degrees of losing.

However Gov. Scott and AG Pam Bond have a lot to answer for, for allowing this awful case to go forward.

And there’ll be even more of both in the near future. I expect a DoJ “investigation” and possibly a federal indictment, a civil suit against Zimmerman, and an unfortunate leak of the names and addresses of the jurors. Anyone wanna bet against me?
