“The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald.”

The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald, Gordon Lightfoot

Constant Reader BigGator5 suggested this one for Obamacare Exchange Eve. That it’s also Government Shutdown Eve is merely an accident.

I can listen to this song forever. It’s got great haunting lyrics and the music is memorial.

      It’s beautiful

They are more poignant if you look at the history of the great lake and the number of wrecks that are in them. Many don’t realize the size and strength of these lakes that we in Michigan are surrounded by, fresh water seas is a better discription. If you are ever this far north you should visit the church to the fallen sailors.

  • Catseyes says:

Not a good song if you live in Michigan Gator, I’ve been on that Lake and the Gales of August will freeze your bones. But yes probably the most haunting song ever written. Doesn’t make me feel good to hear it tho, especially with tree limbs breaking from the weight of the fruit on them. Going to be a hard winter.

For this occasion, I’m finding this song about a shipwreck more appropriate:
