ABC, Jackson 5
…It was playing at the supermarket. What was really funny was that the cashier and I caught each other singing it, and the girl was probably half my age.
I know that song is at least my age – it was the Billboard #1 the day I was born.
So .. if today’s kids know the same songs we know .. what will *their* kids be into?
Or, to put it another way, in 2025, is anyone going to be playing “99 Problems” for their granddaughters and talking about “the old days”?
(please note .. not just picking on Ice-T or Jay-Z here .. this works equally well for Children of Bodom or Assück .. )
I’m sure people once said the same thing about the Beatles, Elvis, and Benny Goodman.
I’m sure they did too .. but there’s a noticeable difference.
