Attorney General Douglas Gansler (D) running for Brovenor* of Maryland.

You know it’s going to be good when an article about a Democratic candidate for governor starts with this paragraph:

Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler said Thursday that showing up at a “beach week” party of teenagers and not investigating whether there was underage drinking was “a mistake that I made.”

No kidding there, Sparky.  Particularly since there’s a picture of him attentively watching a girl twerk – or was it a bump-and-grind? – on some bro wearing what I hope to God are shorts with an American flag pattern**. Wait wait wait… there’s a freaking picture of Attorney General Gansler taking pictures of the Twerker and the Bro.

So, yeah, the Maryland Democratic gubernatorial primary just got either a lot more dull, or a lot less dull, depending on how you look at it.

Via Jake Tapper, a very nice man who deserves to be given pie.

PS: This is what happens when you let the Democrats run any state for too long: they conclude that laws are things that other people have to follow.

*Yes, I stole that from Jim Acosta of CNN.  I stole that WITH PRIDE.  Because it was WORTH stealing, and Mr. Acosta is a freaking genius for coming up with that line.

**Because if that kid was wearing an American flag as a kilt then Douglas Gansler should just go home right now.  And quit his job as Attorney General for Maryland.

  1. Also (and I hate to be a grammar/spelling nazi, since I often make mistakes myself) I wanted to find out what Brovenor was and keeps getting kicked back to me as a not-word. Do you mean Brevinor?

  2. I can respect calling for lowering the drinking age back to 18, even making it a fairly major point in his campaign.
I could respect such a politician going to a place where “underage” drinking is taking place to advertise such a stance.
    .
But that in no way describes what was going on.

  3. One excuse for the twit: he is the chief of law enforcement in Maryland but the party was held in Delaware. His only option there was to call Joe Biden.

The local papers will lambast him and then endorse him in any race for any office as long as he is running against a Republican.
