As God is my witness, this Waxman picture is not a photoshop.

Really and truly.

waxman

That’s how he looks.

As to the article itself… Waxman claims that he’s leaving because forty years is enough.  I would say, off the top of my head, that the man is correct in general; he’s just over-stated how many years were ‘enough’ by about, oh, forty or so. As to Waxman’s frustration that he can’t get his pet causes rubber-stamped anymore… well, yes.  That was kind of the point.  I’m honestly pleased that the man noticed; feedback is so difficult to get in this gig sometimes.

Ach, well, yesterday’s news.

  1. Moe, I’ve been faithfully voting against Waxman since 1992. Until the last election cycle when he got redistricted out of my district and onto greener pasture of West Side and Beverly Hills. It’s a very safe district for him, so the only reason for him to quit is to admit the fact that he’s not going to be the chairman of the committee he wanted (because Democrats have no shot at regaining the house).

  2. Waxman looks a lot worse in full on closes up. Titling his head a little to the size actually diminishes the porcine nature of his face.
