Quote of the Day, I Yearn To Have This Superpower edition.

Background: Haaretz – I apparently should be putting an exclamation point in parentheses after that – reported on random Italian philosopher (and closet anti-Semite) Gianni Vattimo, a man who managed to be goaded into wishing on the air (specifically, on a show called ‘La Zanzara’) that Europe would send troops and missiles to Gaza for the purpose of killing Jews.  Oh, and apparently Mr. Vattimo would like to shoot some of those ‘b*stard Zionists’ himself*.

Impressive own-goal there, huh?  Apparently this is par for the course:

“La Zanzara” (the name means “the mosquito”) is known for the heated tone of its debates, and its two hosts – Giuseppe Cruciani and David Parenzo – are famous for their ability to make guests utter regrettable comments. Media analyst Francesco Caldarola once described it as “the show in which interviewees commit suicide, or are led to suicide, with aberrant statements.”

I regret not speaking Italian, now.  It’s always a pleasure to see true experts at their work, but a translation just won’t have the same oomph.

*He won’t, of course, because when it comes to any matchup between Gianni Vattimo and a random aforementioned b*stard Zionist my money’s on the b*stard Zionist for the win.  Which Vattimo almost certainly knows far too well.

  1. Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.
    .
All this radio interview did was to let the incompetence out for all the world to see.
    .
Or .. rather .. hear. Radio.

  2. Don’t feel sorry for Gianni Vattimo. He’s a pinko commie slimeball. He isn’t sorry for what he said, he is sorry for saying them on the radio.

    1. Oh, I don’t feel sorry for the son of a bitch in the slightest. I just wish that I spoke Italian, so that I could get all the nuances.
