I’ve been doing this gig for over a decade now…

…and I have never seen the Democrats as rattled going into an election season as I am seeing them right now. This Debbie Wasserman Schultz rhetorical disaster is merely the most obvious example: and the weird thing is, that one was a massively rookie mistake. All joking (and sneering!) aside, the current head of the DNC has been a federal and state legislator for over twenty years. That Schultz managed to still so thoroughly step on the Democrats’ messaging delivery system is astounding.

And fun!

While I am rather enjoying the spectacle of DWS stepping on her wedding tackle, metaphorically speaking of course, I’m .. not convinced the GOP winning is gonna mean shit.

I was having a nice conversation with a friend who happens to be far more Establishment than Tea Party .. he pointed out that the Tea Party lose because they fight without strategy .. but had no reply to the question of how the Establishment propose to win by having a strategy but no fight in ’em, eh?

    1. I thought the establishment strategy was simply to stay in office.

They seem to have lots of fight in them for that one.

  2. Kind of makes you wonder what their internal polling is saying, doesn’t it? I overheard someone saying that Hillary would be perfectly positioned to run for President if O’bama was a Republican, but unfortunately he’s not and they can’t even
pretend he is. How’s the old political saying go “Friends tend to come and go but enemies accumulate”. I also heard that one today.

I dunno, they seem to get away with a lot of pretending.

      1. They’ve spent way to much PR time on the “obstructionist Republicans” line to be able to turn it around now.

        1. Heh. A nice side-effect to low-information-voters .. getting them to accept *new* information is *hard*!

Sadly, two years might be enough .. if the media peel off Obama en masse about Dec. 1.
