I am somewhat less transcendentally pissed off right now; but I do not like the tone that can and has crept in on other sites when it comes to emotionally-charged topics like, say, the Ferguson shooting. No names, nothing put in the record; let us all start fresh. And stay frosty.

Definitely. Also very surreal to watch on edited television. The pinball machine themed on the movie is respectable– there were better machines in its era, but there were also much worse ones.

Agreed. New tone and not to look back too much, but just on quick reflection I can’t disagree with anything you’ve said today.
Only other option is the ban hammer.
I suspect many are just annoyed at the myth that the MSM tries to spin about the case and the rioters. Unfortunately, if your on the right, being annoyed does not excuse the posts.
Some would advocate the best method of riot controll to be a Napoleonic “whiff of grapeshot”. But then, we do not live in Napoleanic times.
