*Not* shocking news: Paul Ryan would rather be House Ways & Means chair…

than President: “‘It is amazing the amount of encouragement I have gotten from people – from friends and supporters – but I feel like I am in a position to make a big difference where I am and I want to do that,’ [Congressman Paul Ryan] said.” This should shock nobody, and relieve quite a few: I want Ryan to stay at Ways & Means myself.  It’s the perfect job for a hardcore wonk with a taste for interacting with the tax code with a flensing knife.

Plus, we kind of could use seeing some clarity in next year’s race begin to appear.

    1. Yes, I hope that the primary voters can unite behind an accomplished governor like Walker who has an appeal across the party.

However, I suspect that many are looking for a stupid establishment vs. grass roots fight and want to purposely have a fight.

Walker can unite the party. Walker can win. Walker has a proven record of fiscal reforms.

  1. ways and means is serious power (for good!) without nearly so much hassle. and i’m guessing a walker endorsement should happen soon after walker officially announces.
