Quote of the Day, Turns Out Pandering To Pro-Abortion Fringe Isn’t Electorally Sound edition.

It amazes and pleases me that Salena Zito has to point this out:

Just five years ago, 110 pro-life Democrats were in the House, around a dozen in the U.S. Senate. Today, fewer than five are in the House, and two in the Senate.

Just five years ago, coincidentally, Democrats held majorities in both chambers.

They lost those majorities because they lost touch with their districts.

Of all the poorly-thought-out things that occurred during the forced imposition of Obamacare, one of the most inexplicable was the way that pro-life Democrats got immolated by the process. It would have been the easiest thing in the world to save those careers, but the Democratic leadership preferred to pander to its hardcore pro-abortion fringe. Speaking legislatively, I don’t think that they chose all that wisely.  Or that they’re going to be choosing any more wisely, any time soon.

Welp.  Not my problem!

  1. The tea party faction complains that the Republican leadership hates them – calls them names and such. The real hate is the hate the Democrat leadership has for its non-progressive faction, as shown here. They immolated their entire party including the non-progressive faction, knew they were doing it, and did not care at all.

  2. it’s a suicide thing. the far left is just lashing out at the civilization that makes them feel so bad before curling up in a ball and choking to death on its own hate. not to worry, after 2016 the surviving Dems may try another DLC kind of thing to try to stay relevant.
