The X-Files is coming back as a miniseries. With the original leads, too.

Great day in the morning.

After a 13-year break, “The X-Files” is officially returning to television as a six-episode event series on Fox.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are reprising their iconic roles as paranormal phenomena-investigating FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, the network announced Tuesday. Creator/executive producer Chris Carter will also return to helm the reboot.

Well, I guess that I’m just going to have to go and watch this then, huh?

  1. I wonder if we’ll get any “monster of the week” episodes. Being a miniseries, probably not; but my favorite episodes were monsters of the week. (Remember the red eyes people? Or Flukeman?)

    1. If you haven’t already seen it, you need to read Shaenon K. Garrity’s webcomic “Monster of the Week” — The X-Files in comic form, episode by episode. With appropriate snark, of course.

    1. I saw that as a kid. ‘Swordsman Baker’, the headless horseman (motorcyclist), gave me the creeps.

    2. bring back Kolchak. and do it right.

Be careful what you wish for. People were excited about the remake of The Prisoner, too, and what we got was … not good.

      1. If they bring back Kolchak, he’ll probably now be a lesbian, transgender social justice warrior…
