I loved Firefly.
Serenity, not so much. The awkward shift from western to superhero origin story shattered my willing suspension of disbelief. The genres are just too different to segue from one to the other cleanly without a lot more work than they put into it.
Not to mention killing off Wash diabolous ex machina. And then turning around and expecting me to buy deus ex machina just a few minutes later.
