So, they’re making a sequel to ‘The Omen:’ the ‘Damien’ A&E trailer.

Well, I guess it really is the 1970s all over again.

Via Coming Soon. Is this… really a good idea? I admit, the teaser reveals a remarkable amount of blood and death, in the classic 1970s style; and that’s arguably a good thing, if you really wanted to see a sequel to The Omen.  Only… did anybody? Sure, it’s a classic of its particular horror sub-genre, but – oh, never mind. Either it will be horrible and I will never hear of it again, or it’ll be a smash hit and I’ll catch it on Netflix. I should let people have their fun.

  1. As I recall, there were a couple of sequels. They just didn’t live up to the original.

    1. There was an entire “religious-horror” genre explosion in the ’70s that cross-pollinated with the exploitation genres …

I wonder if the “vigilante” genre will also make a comeback..
