Is there going to be a single moment in the Democratic debates where a candidate says I’m sorry if my opinion is unpopular among the base, but I’m right anyway about any topic at all? Or is it going to just be an ‘out-Left the other candidates’ snoozefest? I’m kind of betting on snoozefest.

So, Vermont Attorney General Bill Sorrell (D) won’t be seeking re-election. Why? Oh, the usual reasons: abuse of power, independent investigations, that sort of thing. Typical the-rules-for-other-people behavior, really:
[Bill] Sorrell is awaiting the outcome of an independent investigation of alleged campaign finance violations. Gov. Peter Shumlin appointed former state Rep. Tom Little to conduct the probe.
The charges against Sorrell were levied by Brady Toensing, vice chairman of the Vermont Republican Party, and claim that Sorrell coordinated with a super PAC, failed to report campaign expenditures on 16 occasions, improperly coordinated campaign activities with Dean Corren in 2014 and received a large campaign donation from a law firm he later hired.
This is really going to happen, is it? Really and truly. I wanted to believe, but I was sure it was gonna fall apart. But they’ve got it filmed now, and ready to go.

…go ahead and watch it here. I’m going to probably skip [UPDATE: ‘most of’] it, because I don’t need to be told how awful this organization is. And it’d be more entertaining to watch Democrats try to squirm away from the central awfulness of this obscenity if it wasn’t quite so obscene.

I enjoy this webcomic a good deal and they’re having a little trouble hitting their funding numbers. If you like World War II superhero stuff, by all means: check it out. It’d be a shame if it doesn’t get published…
