DNC is now deep, deep, DEEP in debt.

This… is kind of important.

The Democratic National Committee’s current debts outweigh the amount of cash it has on hand by more than $1.2 million, according to the group’s Wednesday filing with the Federal Election Committee.

The filing revealed that the DNC currently owes $6.7 million in debts and obligations that it cannot cover with the $5.5 million worth of cash it has on hand.

As I noted a while back, the DNC is a shell of what it once was; and while I’m sure that Hillary Clinton thinks that she can power on through without it, there are a lot of Congressional, Senate, and state Democrats who might have a different opinion on the subject. I must admit, though: it’s fascinating, watching the Democratic party reconfigure itself into an organization that has decided to focus almost exclusively on trying to win the Presidency.  It’s going to be even more fascinating when it blows up in their faces next year.

  1. Yeah, maybe. OTOH, if their bet pays off, and Hillary wins? Maybe gets to appoint a Supreme Court Justice or two. Maybe gets an even wackier EPA and IRS. Maybe doesn’t respond to a nuke going off in Israel, since we don’t know exactly who set it off. Maybe responds half-heartedly to China invading Taiwan. We’ll see.

  2. I’m not sure they really need as much money now that the media has dropped all pretence that it isn’t a DNC/Prog house organ…their message is broadcast 24×7 across every media device.

Oh they’ll know, fissionable material has fingerprints, I think the question is not how or if they respond, but do they care? Turning a blind eye to the Mullahs nuking Israel renders many vexing M.E. issues moot and frees the West from the morass. Calculations have been made, the course is set. Russia and Iran will split the spoils…for a while.

  3. The Dems have proven – repeatedly – that the congress can be managed simply by buying off enough Repubs – even when the Repubs have a majority.
    .
The Dems have proven that the state legislatures and governors are unable to mount any real resistance.

Why on earth *should* the Dems focus resources on more than holding onto the executive branch, Moe?

This is not a rhetorical question.

  4. The DNC is for the little people.
The important people have OFA. Or the Clinton Foundation.
*Note to all Democrats: You do realize that the big boss never rescues any of the sycophants, correct?
