ZOMG Genevieve Cogman is guest-blogging for Charlie Stross!

AND she’s going to have books out in the USA in April!  Excuse me: I need to go order The Invisible Library and The Masked City now.

:type type type:

Annnnnd… done! Should get copies in my hands by the middle of next month – what’s that? They said ‘April?’  Yes, well, that’s for people who don’t know their way around Amazon.

PS: For those wondering why I’m so excited, let me put it this way: back in the late Nineties I did a lot of fan stuff for a roleplaying game called In Nomine.  It still remains my favorite RPG setting (angels and demons on modern earth), in fact. I am not going to be modest, here: I was very good.

Genevieve was better.

  1. That’s one heck of an endorsement.
Sadly, It’s not quite enough to overcome the distaste that the authors of the official blurbs engender.

    1. Think of Charles Stross like Greg Bear. He has some really good books, and some really horrible ones. Except that he’s farther to the political Left and just as outspoken about it. My advice is to read the books about The Laundry, and avoid everything else.

      1. Even the Laundry series is going SJW route, so I’m not sure how much longer I can read Stross.

        1. Oh? I hadn’t noticed Mo – the last one was from her POV – being terribly Social Justice-y..
          .
I also have this *creeping* suspicion that Stross isn’t earning as much as he used to *because* his other books are rather .. preachy .. and that he had grown tired of Bob from IT..

          1. I haven’t read it yet – Mo as a character annoys me in the Bob books, so I figured an entire book of her would be painful.

          2. It’s .. not bad. Stross seems to be plugged in again, he’s clearly more interested in Mo than he was in Bob’s last outing.
            .
Mo is .. less annoying than Mhari.

  2. I agree with essentially everything Moe said. How great the cabal was and is. How great he was. How great Genevieve was then and is now. How great her first book was (that was implicit). And how great it will be to get it mid-January.

You’re getting your copy in April? Put that coffee down. Coffee is for *closers.* Closers who have not walked the Labyrinth and found the Secrets within.

    (Seriously. Buy these books.)
