My RedState post on Daniel Webster.

Found here. Short version: Rep. Daniel Webster has settled on running for re-election in FL-11. All part of the Florida redistricting dance, which is particularly complicated right now… just like normal, really.

    1. Because we passed “anti-gerrymandering laws” and now the courts can throw out districts and subvert the will of the people. Moe thinks this normal or something.

No Moe, nothing about this is “normal” in any way. This is 2016 and we are debating redistricting. This insanity needs to stop.

When are you going to realize that anti-gerrymandering laws are a farce?

    1. What’s the alternative, for a State like Florida, where the population is .. highly seasonal and mobile?
      .
Re-district over and over has its’ own set of disadvantages ..
      .
      “Who’s my congresscritter this year?”
“Who cares, it’ll change next year..”

“They spend more time arguing over this than fixing the roads/schools/cops/healthcare anyway.”

      1. Good term, “highly seasonal population” — so they can vote in Florida and in their home state, too! Kind of like there’s no real good check on college kids voting where there school is and also where there folks live. What a country!

      2. You know already know what my alternative is: End the bloody, no good, awful, and completely unhelpful anti-gerrymandering laws! They are doing nothing but causing problems and feed lawyers! I have demonstrated on my website that they don’t work!

These districts are NOT governing or geographic districts! Judges and lawyers should have no business in them! The state legislature should be able to draw these districts, unmolested! If you don’t want Dems or Republicans drawing thise lines, vote them out!
