My RedState post on Charlie Rangel.

Found here.  Short version: Charlie Rangel got away with it.  …Dammit. It’d be nice to have some good news in contemporary American politics for a change.

  1. Just so you know, one of the moderators on The Right Scoop was looking to assemble a list of people and blogs that still respect constitutional government (i.e. not Trumpbots), so I mentioned your blog here. If I’ve stepped over the line in some way doing so, my apologies.

          1. Sorry: I’m on my absolute last nerve, here. I was fully expecting to be covering an exciting political debate over what it means to be conservative; instead, I’m wondering whether the David Duke/Planned Parenthood/Code Pink candidate is going to get the Republican nomination. There is *nothing* for me in a general election between Trump and Clinton. No pleasure, no joy, no honor, and no excitement.

          2. Why, Moe, I just mean that with a President Trump we would be waking up every day going, “Holy shit, what’s he done now?”

          3. There’s nothing entertaining to be found in the destruction of so much that you loved, worked for, and believed in for so long.

      1. Question.
        .
Out of *politics* .. or out of *DC* politics?
        .
Put another way, will you still discuss happenings that have very little or no bearing on the White House?

        1. This site will be resolutely non-political. Geekery, hopefully more creative writing, presumably news of the weird, that sort of thing.

          1. I would encourage you to explore longer creative writing.

The one-page short-story Paetron format is a weekly smile, but I’d like to see what you would do with, say, 20-50 pages.
            .
(of course, I’d also like to see what you’d do with 350 pages, but let’s not go nuts here)

            1. Ten years of writing in self-contained blocks of 400-800 words have taken their toll. 🙂 Fortunately, the practice regimen I’m on right now should pay dividends.

  2. Moe,

So, you’ve blogged through 7+ years of Obama–who is demonstrably anti-American–but you’re going to give it all up if Trump, a guy who seems to actually love America, is elected.

    Gotcha.

    I think.

        1. No, actually, we are not: you are trying to pressure me in this, and you are failing. In fact, you are simply going to have to accept that if Donald Trump is the Republican nominee, my personal sense of ethics will not permit me to continue writing about politics. And you WILL accept that. This is not something for further discussion.
