  1. Great album, and IMHO it’s TMBG’s best album, but it still makes me twitch a little bit every time I put it on and the opening track proclaims “It’s a brand-new record for 1990”.

    1. I already had that feeling with Asia’s “Heat of the Moment” one day with “And now you find yourself in ’82.”

      1. And it happened again tonight. The local retro show was playing Planet P Project’s “Why Me?”, which contains the line “He won’t be back this way ’til 2010.” When the song was written, that was 27 years away, and not six years prior. Argh. Once again, I’m reminded of the grim specter of death rushing towards me in a pop song.

  2. Meh. I’ve long thought this one oozed Social Justice Warrior self-righteousness even before Social Justice Warriors had a name.

How about “Older” or “New York City”? Or “Why Does the Sun Shine?”
