My RedState post on the weekend schedules.

Found here. Short version: Cruz is/was doing a bit of work this weekend to lock down Wisconsin; Kasich at the time was passing on Wisconsin until next week (he’s added some town halls since); and Donald Trump is apparently going to spend the weekend in seclusion, and [REDACTED BECAUSE THERE IS A RED HAZE ACROSS MY VISION.]

:deep breath:

  1. Sorry about your vision thing.
    .
As for Kaisch .. and Trump for that matter .. perhaps some time spent figuring out just who called ’em up and failed to put ’em down is in order? If nothing else, it may be .. cathartic.

    1. Soros and the Russians.
      .
      Seriously.
      .
It seems pretty clear at this point that Trump either:
      a) was opened to Russian influence by his habit of sleeping with European women
      b) was bought by the Russians
      c) spent so much of the cold war among Leftist Russophiles that he has essentially become one
      .
It should be possible to discredit/counter Trump’s moderate xenophobia with extreme xenophobia, and I do not entirely realize why that hasn’t happened.

  2. Re red haze: yeah, I was handing out troll tags on NRO last night form idiot Trumpbots who are willing to believe that the National Enquirer, whose CEO is a close personal friend of Donald Trump, is now somehow a reputable source.

    1. Well, I believe the NE.
They are alleging that there are allegations.
      And there are.
That the allegations are so far anonymous, unsubstantiated, and made public only by people close to Trump (including the NE) is also true.
      .
Of course, if the allegations were absolutely true (which is unlikely) Cruz’s record of marital fidelity would *still* be better than Trump’s.

      1. The Daily Beast is reporting that the story had been actively pushed by Rubio-affiliated players for 6 months, but they were unable to get it published anywhere respectable due to a lack of evidence.
        .
AFAICT, it still hasn’t been published by anywhere respectable, and there’s still no evidence.

        1. I’m personally dubious on that, mostly because (as far as I remember) nobody ever pitched it to ME. I was pretty sympathetic to Rubio; you’d think that somebody would have at least tried to sound me out on [whether I’d run with] the rumor.

          1. Yes, but you also have a reputation for spiking stories you can’t verify. Just check how many times you’ve mentioned doing so in the last six months or so. And the key here is none of this can be verified

  3. Out of curiosity did anyone approach you with the story of “Hillary will not be President because she has Brain Cancer and will be Dead in Six Months”? Which NE published about 5 and 1/2 months ago. You would think that as a self-described Republican Party Hack they would have. I would guess not because as I said you have a reputation. Being a Decent and Honorable man in an indecent and ignoble time is no small thing.

    1. Well, it means you won’t get invitations to Roger Stone’s parties.
      .
And I can’t even imagine how that could possibly be seen as a bad thing.

    2. Don’t overstate my reputation and/or influence. I am a solid member of an influential conservative/Republican website, which is a sweet gig to have, but it doesn’t make me a significant independent playa. I can easily disappear and be forgotten. 🙂

  4. “…[UNREDACTING] his deeply-held Christian faith will not let him sully Easter Weekend wkth something so crass as politicking.”

    1. Good one!

This has been the most fun since Harry Truman threatened to punch out a music critic who panned his daughter.
