Tweet of the Day, The Apple Didn’t Fall Far From the Tree edition.

I generally try to ignore the Trump children – although at least one of the sons seems to have inherited his father’s nasty, yet sloppy about it streak – but this is a little too hard to resist.

I’m registered to vote in the Republican primary. Sure, it’s Maryland’s, not New York’s – but the principle is sound. You gotta know the rules if you want to play.

PS: Just so you know: we have no idea whether the polling in NY has any relationship at all with the actual results next week. And when I say ‘no idea’ I mean ‘the dude could get 30%; he could get 70%.’  Basically, NY has a fusion ticket system, and the deadline for changing parties was last October (the deadline for registering as a first-time voter was last month). Over a quarter of the NY electorate is in a minor party or an independent: it just never mattered before.

  1. I’m betting that a lot of those minor-party people, and a whole lot of the independents, are big Trump supporters, you betcha. Not enough to keep him from winning New York, or running up his delegate count in the city…but enough to make sure that Cruz takes more than the odd delegate out of the districts, I hope.
